| Announcing the Josepi™ Process: a vital breakthrough in acoustics for stringed instruments. According to inventor Joseph Carlson, “Not since the days of Antonio Stradivari or Giuseppe Guarneri Del Gesu have science and art come together so profoundly to improve the beautiful sounds produced by stringed instruments. The results are the amplifying, broadening, and enriching of the organic acoustical personality of each instrument to significantly enhance its power, tonality, and projection." The acoustical difference between treated and untreated instruments of the same grade is remarkable. Musicians playing a Josepi™ acoustically treated instrument find they can express themselves more fully because their instruments have become more responsive and are vocally enhanced. Lower tones produced on Josepi™ treated instruments are richer and fuller, carrying more soul into the music; higher tones are more focused and singing. Broadened, more intense sound creates greater solo clarity and quality. But treated instruments blend well in group performances allowing the player a wider range of viability. How it works: The Josepi™ Process is a unique mechano-chemical methodology that improves the sound-producing capabilities of stringed instruments. Externally, it is not visually evident, but is applied inside the instrument’s soundbox. Suitable for instruments under construction and for those already completed, the Process differentially strengthens the wood by increasing the stiffness to mass modulus without increasing or decreasing the mass. In other words, wood is neither added to nor removed from the instrument. As the instrument is played, more vibrational energy is generated, causing an enhanced coupling of sound waves. Value: With the Josepi™ Process, good instruments become better and the best instruments may become unsurpassed. The Josepi™ Process improves moderately priced instruments, usually resulting in a sound and playability associated with instruments costing significantly more. Devon E. Note: the suitability of instrument for the Josepi™
Process depends upon its wood. Devon will carefully evaluate your
instrument to determine whether or not it can benefit from the Process.
